Y6 have been looking at existing cloth bags. They have deconstructed them and considered their purpose and design. They then had a go at sewing a seam and evaluated their sewing skills before designing their own cloth bags.

152Year 6 have been using their DT skills to sew recycled textiles together to create a bag that could be used by an evacuee in World War Two.
129Y6 have sewn their bags. They all look amazing! They then tested and evaluated their product to see if they would be suitable for an evacuee to carry their belongings on a journey. Well done Y6!
127Today Year 2 have been exploring different vegetables. Looking at how we can prepare them and what they taste like. With adult help, they have been carefully peeling and chopping; carrots, avocado, peppers and cucumber. The class have loved trying the different vegetables, deciding how they tasted and what their textures felt like!
117Nursery enjoyed making red play-dough. We measured out the ingredients and mixed it all in a large bowl. To make the play-dough we used flour, salt, oil, food colouring and cream of tar tar. We took it in turns to help pour and mix the Ingredients.
121Y6 have been working hard to create their own salsa! They tasted shop bought salsa before chopping, slicing and crushing fresh ingredients to create their own dish.
107We studied how photo frames were constructed and used our knowledge of struts and braces to design our own photo frames.
110Y6 were tasked to change a traditional quesadilla recipe in D.T. They did a brilliant job and carefully chose the flavours and ingredients they thought would work best together. We used our fresh salsa recipe as a base and added new vegetables and herbs.
102Today we used different objects and materials from around our classroom to make free standing bridges that could take the weight of our chosen animal toy.
183We made some beautiful cards and chocolate strawberry crispy cakes to take home for our Mummy’s.



In DT, Y6 have been investigating kites. They assembled pre-made kites and then tested them out in the school grounds.
98Y6 have been practising making frame structures. They reinforced them using different materials. We are excited to make our kite frames next week!
407Y6 have tried houmous this week. They then made their own flavoured houmous.
437Year 5 enjoyed planning and creating different types of bread,importantly they were able to eat it afterwards.
397As part of our Big Wide World topic we worked together to create our own sailing boat. We can’t wait to use it to travel around the world. Land Ahoy!!

Year 5 had a wonderful afternoon creating Ancient Greek comedy and tragedy masks. The children are extremely creative and they really enjoy expressing themselves through art.
440Year 4 enjoyed a session with Food for Thought. They made vegetable stir fry with noodles, chopping, cooking, mixing and of course eating their incredible dishes. They really enjoyed learning about how to cook safely and how to make a balanced dish
416Today we showed our kites to Reception and flew them at the back of school. It wasn’t very windy but we still managed to get some lift in them!
432We carefully followed a set of instructions to make our very own healthy vegetable soup for snack. It tasted absolutely delicious!

In R.E Nursery have been learning about the wisemen visiting Jesus. During continuous provision the children decorated their own crowns.
351Y6 have been working really hard to create bags from recycled materials. They combined their textiles together using running stitch and back stitch and added handles and pockets to suit their design brief.
364The children worked really hard when trying to create pulley systems and gear systems. They tried different materials and carried out a very good evaluations of their products.
357With the weather being so cold recently, we though we’d give the birds a treat by making them some yummy bird cakes.

We made some delicious cakes for Grandma and decorated them with icing and yummy sprinkles.


Year 5 created Ancient Greek comedy and tragedy masks. The used plaster of Paris to make the masks and painted them trying show the facial expressions of comedy or tragedy.
307Today Y6 had a visit from Food for Thought. The children worked hard to chop, measure and combine their ingredients to create apple crumbles. We hope you enjoyed them at home!
147Year 5 had an amazing time stepping back in time to make Viking pottage with the fantastic team from Food for Thought! The children loved getting hands-on with the ingredients and learning how the Vikings cooked their meals.
